HAIR COLOR – Medium-brown, 6 inches long and wild, rarely combs it.

EYE COLOR – Brown.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS – Untamed frizzy long hair. Almost matted. Tends to stand out like Einstein but possibly a closer parallel is Merlin the Magician with bird nests in his hair. Pronounced Adam’s Apple. Often unshaven with beard tending toward fuzzy rather than course.

FAMILY – Partner – None. Past girlfriend – Dr Gabriella Pinski a professor of microbiology and virology at the University of Washington School of Medicine. They met hiking in Mt. St. Helens crater where Dr Pinski supervised graduate students on a continuing study of regeneration of micro habitats after the volcanic eruption. Mother – Catherine Nusmen worked as a hospital administrator. Father – David Nusmen worked as an accountant.

PERSONALITY─ Lives in his thoughts. Self-absorbed. Eccentric. Intelligent, serious, single minded, likes solving science problems, can be childish, has trouble relating to people, interested in different topics. Could be categorized as narcissistic but a more accurate term might be oblivious to other people. Driven by interests in microbiology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, and plants. Never played sports. No social interests.

HOBBIES – Hiking away from people, plants, chemistry. Occasionally tried computer hacking and games.

PETS – None.

EDUCATION – BSc and MSc in biochemistry with a minor in molecular biology from Harvard University. MSc Thesis ─ Induction Roles and Meiosis in RNA-Binding Proteins.

OCCUPATION – Part time work for US Forest Service doing plant studies. Forced incarceration at the Department of Defense’s secret Biological Warfare Laboratories at Fort Lewis, Washington.

CAREER – After graduation moved to the Methow Valley near Winthrop, Washington State. Worked part time for the Forest Service doing vegetation field studies in the wilderness areas.

MODUS OPERANDI – Nusmen has no particular way of working other than total immersion.

Favorite weapon – SAVE-Staphylococcus aureus Vancomycin Evolves. The resistant bacteria that Nusmen and Wally, now Dr Wally Banks created at Harvard when they were undergraduate students.
